People The Guild (NPCs) The people who help run (and are part of) the Guild.  Ceva Valroyna Ceva Valroyna, better known as simply "Ceva" ("C" to her friends) is an Elven woman, originally from Waterdeep, who helped co-found the Guild. Friend to Big Jim and Professor Eimar Daj , she is a former assassin and ward of Invis Winterenvy. Deeply rooted in city politics, she is a member of the so-called Neverwinter Resistance and is romantically linked to resistance leader Sakai . In her spare time, when not acting as quartermaster for the Guild or performing work for the resistance, she spends quite a lot of time baking and is responsible for most of the jam tarts that end up in the Guild.  This page is a stub! You can help by expanding it.  Eimar (Valen) Daj Eimar (formerly known as Valen) Daj is a wizard of ill-repute. He eats jam tarts by licking the jam out of them and crunching the base separately, like a true degenerate. His list of exploits includes:  Being banned from an incredibly large number of places, including but not limited to: The isle of Chult (for reason or reasons unknown);  Half the taverns of Neverwinter (supposedly for "seditious behavior", though this is unconfirmed);  The Spiced Nut Lady's cart (for reason or reasons unknown); Performing irresponsible acts of magic, including: Turning Arun Waesfield's desk permanently into a goat;  Awakening a large number of the crows of Neverwinter, thus granting them speech and the ability to speak Going one step further and turning one of those crows ("Amanda") into an elf after Amanda reputedly asked to be transformed  Having the popular drinking song  Banned!  written about all of the above: 🎶 He's banned from the taverns of Never-winter, Banned from the isles of Chult He can't buy his nuts from the spiced-nut lady, Was fired for the Thing With the Goat Soon he'll be welcome neither in-doors nor outdoors, Not on the land or a boat Hope he's a plan to get himself un-banned, Or next time could be all she wrote!🎶 Being a strumpet of such renown that there are songs about  that sung about him in the Harbor Quarter to this day. Daj is the current Head of the Transmutation Department at the College of Neverwinter, a mistake that Elen Blackburn almost certainly regrets. He lives in a basement apartment at the Guild, one that he may or may not have stolen from Ceva .  This article is a stub! You can help by expanding it.  James ("Big Jim") Cordoroy James ("Big Jim") Cordoroy is a Human man who founded and runs the Bounty Hunter's Guild. Adopted by his father, gnome blacksmith Jim the Smith, Big Jim attended the Fighter's College and studied under a retired warlock before founding the Guild.  This page is a stub! You can help by expanding it.  The Barbarian Horde The barbarians are Guild members in good standing. Consisting of an ever-evolving never-defined group of people, they accept any and all comers into their fold. Led by Vlad the Barbarian, called such as he is from the "barbarous" North, they are responsible for several social clubs in the Guild proper, including but not limited to:  Barbarian Book Club  Barbarian Cooking Club  Barbarian Fight Club  Barbarian Food Club  Recruitment into the barbarians consists of being asked if you would like to join them. Upon saying "yes", one is considered an honorary barbarian.  Notable exploits have included the stocking of the Little Free Library and the opening of a coffee shop, Vlad's Eats and Treats, in the Mercantile Quarter.  This page is a stub! You can help by expanding it.  Vlad the Barbarian Vlad the Barbarian is a Human Fighter in his early 30s. Originally from the Ten Towns, Vlad came south and found the Guild almost immediately. Settling in, he immediately began doing what he could to help his fellow newcomers adjust to the ethos and practices of the Bounty Hunter's Guild, guiding those new to the Guild in their first bounties and introducing them to Neverwinter proper. He is friends with Ceva , Big Jim and Daj , and is largely considered to be an honorary member of the Guild leadership (something he roundly refuses to acknowledge). Vlad has been noted to have some skill with magic, being taught Fireball by Professor Daj at one point in the past, and has an almost unnatural sense of when he is about to be pulled into a bounty, disappearing when assignments are made. He ran for the White Council unsuccessfully during the first election cycle, and currently operates a coffee shop, Vlad's Eats and Treats, in the Mercantile Quarter along with other members of the Barbarian Horde . The Guild (PCs) Dea Deanathil 'Dea' Tinnarael-Whitehall (they/them) is a Terrifyingly Cheerful half-elven bard who originally hailed from the East of Faerûn, and has called the Guildhouse home since graduating from the prestigious University of Suzail. They can usually be found reading or doing some kind of paperwork in their favorite chair by the fire in the common room of the guildhall. They can also usually be found playing gigs at a shockingly long list of venues around the city. They can also usually be found attending to the business of the Neverwinter Voice newspaper, of which they are founder and executive editor. It is unclear when they sleep. Part of the reason they came so far west to start their own career was to escape the long shadow cast by their family. Their mother Morgan Whitehall is a famous bardic composer; their other parent Elesakalyn 'Saka' Tinnareael is, while not an overwhelmingly powerful spellcaster, an extremely influential arcane theorist. (Both are half-elves themselves, rather than a mixed-species pairing.) Both families have many other famous members as well. None of these are officially in politics, but Dea has from time to time been called back to Suzail to help prevent "another shadow war."  Talon Talon of She Who Hunts the Dawn (he/him) is a colorful Bugbear shaman from the northeastern plains. His patron, the namesake She Who Hunts the Dawn, is a great owl spirit who is said to safeguard the people of the plains yet bring disaster to those who fail to pay her tribute. He came to Neverwinter some time ago following a mysterious vision given to him by Her, and chose to join the Guild as its work is "meet for a servant of the People."  Talon is quite wise, but rather... Rough-hewn, in terms of considering the feelings and perceptions of other people; the effect of this is sometimes compounded by the fact that he learned his Common from an old elven ranger who hadn't actually spoke it much in several centuries. He can usually be found somewhere within the thundering herd of Vlad's Barbarians, but Jim has identified him as a somewhat steadier sort than most of that crowd and frequently singles him out for missions. Benthos "Benny" Haichen Benthos "Benny" Haichen Ilizana is a Triton from the western seas. He is a member in good standing of the Bounty Hunter's Guild and Mallon Ilizana 's husband. He has a young dog, Kelpy, who was a gift from Mal. Benny grew up in a fairly isolated deep-sea Triton community but was always fascinated by the greater world, as represented by the merchant trade ships, and wanted to go out and become a sailor. Once he was a teenager, he did just that: He left home, signed on to a merchant ship (the Pelican's Pride, under Captain Rhise), and looked to the horizon for new adventures. Benny spent a decade or so sailing the seas before deciding that he wanted to explore life on land. Neverwinter was a port town he quite liked, and the Bounty Hunter's Guild provided easy employment and a way to explore the city's surrounds, and so he settled down there. Life in Neverwinter became  quite exciting for Benny once he was recruited to the Resistance, then led by Henry Lillen and Taran Miraleth. It became even more exciting when he stepped between a dagger and then-Councillor Elion Qinro , kicking off a romance that ended poorly for everyone involved due to the layers of lies woven on both sides. The bright side of Benny's entanglement with El, however, was growing close to Mallon Ilizana. After their respective relationships with El ended, Benny and Mal remained involved with each other, prompting everyone (including and especially Mal's mother, Jastira Ilizana) to ask them how long they had been dating and how serious they were about each other. Through a number of shenanigans, most notably Vaeril Elra's wedding, Benny and Mal are now married. (Something they weren't particularly planning on doing, but which they're perfectly happy about since—much like most of their relationship!—it was a happy accident that resulted in their marriage.) Benny does not particularly enjoy being a Lord Ilizana, but being part of the nobility has some benefits when it comes to maneuvering through the politics of Neverwinter. Still, he'd rather be a simple sailor than the political figure he's become. Azoren Embersong Azoren Embersong, née Ashwind, is a half-elven bard with a loud fashion sense, and penchant for showering friends and enemies alike in confetti and glitter.   He’s 6ft tall with amber eyes, long straight black hair and typically sports a well kept short cropped beard. He doesn’t know his exact age but reckons he’s in his 60s.   History Azoren was born in the city-state of Uthalinor, about 1,000 years ago. Growing up in a city where magic was power and status, his extended family wanted him to be a wizard or sorcerer. So, of course, he dropped out of school to join a band, and fell in with the bard crowd.   At that time the main faction of bards were already deeply involved in fomenting revolution against the ruling class of arcane magic users. Azoren was swept up in their intrigues by proximity and started working for an elven spymaster who went by the stage name of Divine.   Political differences and personal animosity led Azoren’s Aunt, Serai Ashwind, to set a curse on him causing him to skip forward in time. How long he had between each skip or how far into the future he would end up was random. Sometimes decades would pass without a desynchronization, other times only hours.   A romance with Divine fell apart after he disappeared for about a century. Even elves have trouble putting life on hold for that long.   The rebellion in Uthalinor succeeded, but upon returning from another of his time skips he found the city completely destroyed in retaliation. In the aftermath Azoren ended up wandering the continent and living off busking.   Present Day 800 years after the destruction of his home city Azoren ended up in present day Neverwinter and came to the Bounty Hunters’ Guild looking for work to supplement his income as a street performer.   He formed early friendships with Ceva and Big Jim , though initially remained standoffish with Daj because of his history with wizards. He also made connections with the Bards’ Guild and while never formally joining often finds gigs with them.   During the course of his membership in the Bounty Hunters’ Guild Azoren accidentally stumbled into a resistance meeting. He stayed in the hopes that this time things could turn out differently.   Daj was the key to finally breaking Azoren’s time travel curse.  Daj introduced Azoren to the chronomancer, Toross Caiden, who helped him find out the curse on him was anchored to an object. His aunt’s watch. It was old enough to be considered a rare antique. Invis Winterenvy had acquired the watch and given it to his beloved wife Sana . It was buried with her when she passed. With the help of Winterenvy’s daughter Leda , Azoren gained access to the family crypt and dispelled the watch finally setting him free of the curse.   Delivered from the spector of being pulled out of time Azoren began thinking of Neverwinter as home instead of another temporary stop over. With the encouragement of Ceva he sought mind healing to adjust to living without the curse and to process what had happened.   Ten months after arriving in Neverwinter Big Jim set Azoren up with Kirvan Aramar , an instructor at the fighters’ college. They hit it off and have been dating ever since.   The White Council The current and past members of the White Council.  Mathienne Feywinter Mathienne Feywinter is a member of House Feywinter and current junior councilor on the White Council. Cousin to Mallon Ilizana and wife to Vaeril Elra , she is the bound protector of the sword Blackrazor, a legendary longsword of particularly ill repute.  Feywinter has been involved in several schemes and has been thwarted by the Neverwinter Resistance multiple times. She is obsessed with Adamar and believes that the "northern woman" has escaped her just fate and must be punished.  Feywinter has been linked to the House of the Wands from Waterdeep, and is believed to be working with them, though it is unclear to what, if any, end. Members of the Wands are known to have created at least two Simulacra for her, though again it is unclear why or for what purpose (beyond the simple ability to let her be in two places at once). These Simulacra were destroyed by Azoren and Noct during one of the Resistance missions set by Sakai .  Feywinter's townhouse was similarly destroyed by Azoren Embersong during the destruction of her Simulacrum.  This article is a stub! You can help by expanding it.  Other Councilors (Past and Present) The White Council has consisted of a number of Councilors over the years, not all of whom have been as notorious as others. Some of the less-commonly referenced councilors are listed here.  Current Members Vaeril Elra Mathienne Feywinter ( Separate Page ) Cilieren Horith Mallon Ilizana Temdess Longwinter Taran Miraleth Solana Presna Durikon Stonefist Tanyl Vahorn Annabelle Whipple Invis Winterenvy, Sr. ( Separate Page ) Jassin Zinyra Past Members Rolim Cardell Harmonium Kindwinter Elion Qinro ( Separate Page ) Artin Winterenvy (Historical Figure) Current Members Vaeril Elra  Vaeril (Vae) Elra is a socialite and junior member of the White Council. Known in the papers as "Waukeen's Favorite Socialite", she is a recognized Master of Illusion, though she does not advertise this fact widely. Following an interruption in her wedding to a minor Waterdhavian Lord, she is now married to Mathienne Feywinter. While her motivations are unclear, Elra has indicated that she does not support her wife's positions, and has in fact worked to undermine her on several occasions.  Mathienne Feywinter See Mathinnne Feywinter for full details. Mathienne Feywinter is a member of House Feywinter and current junior councilor on the White Council. Cilieren  Horith Cilieren Horith is a socialite and current junior member of the White Council. Much of her personal life has been extensively covered in Violette's Columns, but little is known about her beyond her recent spate of populist measures introduced in the Council.  Mallon Ilizana  Mallon ("Mal") Ilizana is current Lord Ilizana and heir to the Ilizana fortune. Married by accident to Benthos (Benny) Haichen , he is a graduate of the Fighter's College and very much does not wish to be on the White Council, please and thank you.  Temdess Longwinter Temdess Longwinter is a former Paladin of Tyr and current senior member of the White Council. The only remaining White Council member to have sworn the magically-binding oath that sees him upholding protection of the city, he is largely removed from the petty machinations of other Council members. A widower, his sole remaining family died in a "mine collapse" caused by the Neverwinter Resistance, a fact that has yet to be brought to his attention. Taran Miraleth   Taran Miraleth is a Priest of Angharradh and current junior member of the White Council. Hailing from Star's Fall, Taran did not originally run for Council of his own volition, but was forced into the race by the machinations of Elion Qinro. Taran studied as a student at the College of Neverwinter (declared major: abjuration), graduating after four years and declining further study. He does not identify as a wizard but primarily as a Councilor and priest of his goddess, and is seen by many in the city as being a "man of peace" as he does not carry weapons and has no known martial skills. He was one of the first two democratically elected councilors (along with Annabelle Whipple).  Solana Presna  Solana Presna is a junior member of the White Council and owner of the Leaded Glass Tavern. A member of the Neverwinter Resistance, she struck a plea deal after turning in her fellow conspirators following the events of the First Neverwinter Revolution, and was subsequently promoted to Councilor in exchange for her cooperation. A supposed gambling addict, Presna is still linked to the Resistance and is notorious for using her position to thwart her fellow Councilors, most of whom look at her track record as a supposed gambler and simply do not believe she is capable of the level of thought or detail needed to thwart them.  Durikon Stonefist   Durikon Stonefist is a junior member of the White Council. A former Priest of Tyr, they were appointed by Elion Qinro following their departure from the Council. Their appointment to the Council was the subject of much debate, eventually culminating in a compromise vote that saw Solana Presna giving up her appointment to Senior Councilor in exchange for their confirmation.  Tanyl Vahorn  Tanyl Vahorn is a junior member of the White Council. Relatively little else is known about her. Rumors in the city indicate that her vote can be bought, but this has never been investigated or successfully proven.  Annabelle Whipple  Annabelle Whipple is a former merchant and current junior Council member. Daughter of Ted Whipple, she owned a shop in the Neverwinter Mercantile Quarter before quitting to run for Council, on a platform of providing universal elementary education for all of Neverwinter, a promise she has since delivered on. She was one of the first two democratically elected councilors (alongside Taran Miraleth).  Invis Winterenvy, Sr. See Invis Winterenvy, Sr. for full details. Invis Winterenvy Sr. is an Elven man and the head of the Winterenvy family, one of the founding families of Neverwinter. Originally from Waterdeep, he is a Senior Councilor on the White Council and has been responsible for the running of the Council for several years. He is presently in the midst of retiring from the Council. Jassin Zinyra Jassin Zinyra is a junior member of the White Council. Formerly of Waterdeep, most of their interactions with the Guild have revolved around their ties to House Brokengulf -- specifically, how House Brokengulf seeks revenge against them for the death of their scion, and wants to see them destroyed as well.  Past Members Rolim Cardell Rolim Cardell was a junior member of the White Council. A  Winterenvy loyalist, he was subjected to the spell Feeblemind by Eimar Daj during the rescue of Sister Greeley, a cleric of Tymora who was sentenced to death after being blamed for the actions of the Neverwinter Resistance. Following his healing from Feeblemind at the Temple of Selune in Waterdeep, Cardell remained incapable of speaking but indicated through pictures his unwillingness to return to the Council. His daughter, Ren Cardell, a former Winterenvy assassin turned Priestess of Angharradh, has overseen his care since his discharge from the Temple.  Harmonium Kindwinter  Harmonium Kindwinter was a Senior Councilor on the White Council prior to her resignation. Mother to Lachlan (murdered by Invis Winterenvy Jr), she was notorious in the city for being somewhat unstable and difficult to work for. Related to Julia Kindwinter (former head of the Temple of Waukeen), she was sentenced to death by hanging following a seditious attempt to steal the first Neverwinter Council Election, though this was commuted to exile from the city by her fellow councilors. It is believed that after her trial and exile that she returned to the city of Baldur's Gate. Little has been heard of her since.  Elion Qinro See Elion Qinro for full details. Elion Qinro ("El" to their friends) is a half-elven person who currently serves as a Priest of Torm at a shrine outside of Neverwinter. A former Senior Councilor on the White Council, they were involved in a number of plotlines that had to do with trying to bring about certain events in the city, including calling for the first Neverwinter Election, re-opening the College of Neverwinter, and attempting to see Valen Daj sacrificed to the Court of Night in exchange for the soul of their friend Serai. Formerly romantically linked to Benthos (Benny) Haichen, they were a powerful warlock in their own right, stealing power from one of the Great Old Ones before this link was severed and their soul rejoined by the actions of members of the Guild.   Artin Winterenvy  Artin Winterenvy is a former Senior Councilor of Neverwinter. Great-great grandmother to Invis Winterenvy , she was the head of the Winterenvy Family and is believed to be the person who trapped Thallan Shara ("the Masked One") in the Mirror of Life Trapping prior to her death during the destruction of Neverwinter roughly 200 years before the game's start date. Little else is known about her, but she is described in various different texts as having been a "good" Councilor.  Elion Qinro Elion Qinro ("El" to their friends) is a half-elven person who currently serves as a Priest of Torm at a shrine outside of Neverwinter. Elion grew up in the Temple of Tyr in Neverwinter. As a youth, they wanted to be a healer, but their deepest dream was to be a wizard. They attended the University of Suzail, where they were a mediocre-to-bad wizard (a lack of control was cited as their primary flaw) and met their close friend Serai, a human woman also studying magic. As neither of them were progressing in their studies as quickly as they desired, Elion and Serai devised a plan to cheat the system by becoming Warlocks. They summoned the Lord of Night and made a very bad deal with him, one which left Serai bound under the Lord of Night while barely giving either Serai or Elion anything in return. Elion, desperate to save Serai, made a further bad deal and successfully saved a fragment of her soul in exchange for a fragment of their own. Elion then returned to Neverwinter, as the University of Suzail wasn't quite sure  what had happened but it  was clear that Elion was involved in Serai's disappearance. In Neverwinter, Elion became obsessed with both saving the city and saving Serai. This led them to become a member of the White Council, where they became a good friend of Mallon Ilizana , worked on several populist bills (re-opening the College of Neverwinter after it was closed down, calling for a democratic election, etc.), and also became romantically involved with Benthos "Benny" Haichen after he saved them from an impromptu assassination attempt. Unfortunately for their romantic hopes, Elion's warlock ways—not powered by the fey as they had originally planned, but instead stolen from the Great Old Ones—and questionable goals for the city meant that Benny was investigating them for the Resistance and that Elion was keeping secrets of their own from Benny. Despite these secrets, the two genuinely cared for each other, but when the secrets finally came to light it set off a series of break-ups that made nobody happy. Most notably, Elion Qinro wanted to try to sacrifice Valen Daj (note the refusal to use Eimar's chosen and preferred name) to the Court of Night in exchange for Serai's return. This was, understandably, not well-received by Benny and his friends. Despite their misgivings about Elion's overall goals, Benny and other members of the Bounty Hunter's Guild worked to find a safer way to save Serai and Elion's souls from the Court of Night. After a series of investigations, and with the help of one Yamanoi, the members of the Bounty Hunter's guild (led by Benny, Fredrick, and Azoren) found Serai's soul fragment hidden in a magical book, discovered the terms of the Lord of Night's deal with Elion and Serai, and confronted the Lord of Night to regain both people and their souls. As part of the deal, Benny was bound to guard over Elion's soul and prevent them from entering any further Warlock deals. Elion Qinro, soul restored with Viola Hyslop 's help, was terribly overcome by the return of their emotions. They spent some time recovering in the Temple of Tyr before temporarily returning to their duties in the White Council. However, their political standing had dissolved over this time, and Mathienne Feywinter in particular was thwarting their attempts to accomplish anything. Elion Qinro retired from the White Council after being called by Torm to become a shrine keeper. They retired before a new round of elections had been called, allowing them to name Durikon Stonefist as a new Junior Councillor and request that Solana Presna take their place as Senior Councillor without requiring a popular vote. Invis Winterenvy, Sr. Invis Winterenvy Sr. is an Elven man and the head of the Winterenvy family, one of the founding families of Neverwinter. Originally from Waterdeep, he is a Senior Councilor on the White Council and has been responsible for the running of the Council for several years. Prior to his work in Neverwinter, he was head of an elite group of assassins in Waterdeep, work he continued in Neverwinter before its disbanding following the death of his son, Invis Winterenvy Jr.  Winterenvy is often considered to be the face of what is wrong in Neverwinter. Rocked by scandal and tragedy, he has become a much quieter man, and his former near-dictatorial hold on the city's politics has become somewhat vestigial. He is in the process of retiring from the White Council, prompting much wrangling over how it will run once he's gone. This article is a stub! He is notoriously bad at Abjuration.  Dandy Crowle  Dandy Crowle is a Divination wizard and Seer who is the head of the Divination Department at the College of Neverwinter. Dandy specializes in frightening everyone she talks to by telling them their future. Khallain is notable for being the only department head who is not a wizard with recognized mastery in the department she teaches in. Married to Dandy Crowle, she is a former member of a death cult dedicated to the resurrection of the god Myrkul. Khallain hails from Amn, and in her spare time, she spends her hours working as a Prelate for the Dead at the Temple of Tyr.  Veldrin Deund  Veldrin Deund is a recognized master alchemist and head of the Botany Department at the College of Neverwinter. Originally from a small farmstead outside of Mantol Derith, he specializes in magical fungi and has a pet alkada named Gilbert.  Arun Waesfield  Arun Waesfield is the former head of the Enchantment Department at the College of Neverwinter. Following the events that led to the eventual dissolution of the College, Dr. Waesfield opted to quit teaching altogether in favor of opening a stall in the Neverwinter Open Air Market, specializing in repair of magical objects and everyday enchantments. Dr. Waesfield hails originally from Waterdeep, where he studied as a member of the House of the Wands before leaving to attend the the University of Suzail. His claim to fame, aside from his cart, is providing magical items for members of the Guild in good standing at a 70% discount , and in having been part of a feud with  Eimar Daj that saw his desk turned permanently into a goat.  Miscellaneous NPCs of Neverwinter The following article consists of people of Neverwinter who are not remarkable enough to feature in an article of their own. Ranging from merchants, members of the Temple of Waukeen and relatives of White Council members, it is truly a mishmash of any/everyone in Neverwinter.  Table of Contents Kirvan (Kir) Aramar Kit Bonegrip Lee and Camilla Hargrove   Lady Jastira Ilizana Wild Huckleberry Sally Jack (The Spiced Nut Lady) Julia Kindwinter Lachlan Kindwinter Jim the Smith Junebug Mouse Spouse Guy Nova Royce Alexander Sinmouth Violette (Columnist) Nisha Vince Zeb and Rose Waterloo Ted Whipple Emmet White Invis Winterenvy Jr Leda Winterenvy   Vanya Winters Felix Wyndle Zemwar Kirvan (Kir) Aramar  Kirvan (Kir) Aramar is a Half-Elf instructor at the Neverwinter Fighter's College. Friend to Big Jim and Ceva, he was paired with Azoren Embersong during a blind date event, during which they hit it off and began dating. He is a half-elven man native to Neverwinter and comes from a very large family, the subject of which is something of a running joke among the people of the city.  Kit Bonegrip   Kit Bonegrip is the head of the Mason's Guild and suspected member of the Neverwinter Resistance. An Orc woman, she is renowned for being no-nonsense and a good boss.  Lee and Camilla Hargrove  Lee and Camilla Hargrove are a Human brother and sister who own a farm outside of Neverwinter. Featured in one of the very first bounties every run, they were troubled by bandits on their farm. Later, Camilla was kidnapped by a tax collector operating out of bounds (but with the blessing of the White Council) before being rescued by the Guild and returned to her brother. The treatment of the Hargroves at the hands of the White Council is cited by some members of the Guild as being the formative event that led to their joining the Neverwinter Resistance.  Lady Jastira Ilizana  Lady Jastira Ilizana is the mother of Mallon Ilizana. A formidable presence in Neverwinter, she is considered by many to be difficult to get along with, though she is much-beloved by her son.  Wild Huckleberry  Wild Huckleberry (yes, that  is his given name) is the head chef of the Book in Hand Tavern, widely considered to be one of the best restaurants in the city. He pays well for foraged goods and is a favorite among druids of the city, some of who claim that his generosity when it comes to paying for mushrooms each fall covers their rent for the year.  Sally Jack (The Spiced Nut Lady) Sally Jack is a Human vendor in the Neverwinter Open Air Market. Known more widely as the Spiced Nut Lady, she makes and sells the best spiced nuts in the city for a very reasonable fee. The stories about the Spiced Nut Lady are many; her ire is widely feared out of all proportion with the scope of her empire. She is also a prominent officer of the Merchant's Guild and has a notably luxurious house, implying she either has other investments or spiced nuts are a shockingly  lucrative trade. She is perhaps most notorious for having banned Eimar Daj from shopping at her cart. The reasons given as to why are varied, but it is known that sharing nuts with Daj is enough to get anyone who dares to do so banned as well. On the other hand, Bounty Hunters can avail themselves of a 25% discount if they promise to eat their nuts in front of Daj. Potential Spoilers Sally Jack is also a notable Resistance leader. She has brought a number of missions to the Bounty Hunter's Guild resistance cell. Jim the Smith  Jim the Smith is a Gnomish blacksmith and adoptive father to Big Jim Cordoroy . Little is known about him. He is friends with Ceva , though it is unclear how they met, and a devout follower of Tyr.  Junebug  Junebug is the adopted Human child of Burke Halpin , head of the Merciful Maiden Tavern and former head of the Thieves' Guild.  Julia Kindwinter  Julia Kindwinter is a Human Priestess of Waukeen and former head of the Temple of Waukeen. Cousin to  Harmonium Kindwinter , she left the city following Harmonium's exile.  Lachlan Kindwinter  Lachlan Kindwinter was the son of Harmonium Kindwinter . A spoiled young Human man, he was notorious for using his mother's position as a member of the White Council to escape from justice, including avoiding being charged with the murder of Stelios Markou, a bartender in the Harbor Quarter that Lachlan is believed to have murdered following a dispute over an unpaid bill. Disappearing shortly after a very public duel with Invis Winterenvy Jr , Lachlan's remains were found in the basement of the Winterenvy townhouse in Neverwinter, and he is now believed to have been another one of Winterenvy Jr's victims.  Mouse Spouse Guy  Mouse Spouse Guy (also known as the Poison Vendor) is a vendor who hawks his wares out of the Merciful Maiden Tavern in the Harbor Quarter. His real name is unknown. Often told to "let it go" by Burke, he is notorious for the patter he engages in each time someone approaches his table:  Ah, you! Do you have a spouse problem -- I mean, a mouse problem? Mouse, spouse -- who would marry a mouse?"  Mouse Spouse Guy is a holdover from the (now-defunct) Stalker campaign, and was introduced at the behest of players. Poisons can be purchased from him. Prices and inventory vary. Nova Royce  Nova Royce is a Human merchant in the Mercantile Quarter. A glassblower by trade, they also sell and trade common objects, and offer a 25% discount to Guild members in need of common items.  Alexander Sinmouth  Alexander Sinmouth is a Half-Elf newspaper owner. Running the  Neverwinter Daily News , he is a notorious conspiracy theorist who believes that the city is controlled by an elite Undead cabal (the "Wight Council").  Violette (Columnist)  Violette is the pseudonym of a columnist who wrote previously for the Neverwinter Chronicle and now writes for the Neverwinter Voice. Her columns are full of blind items regarding certain (in)famous people about the city. While her identity is unknown, most people in Neverwinter have a guess as to who she is. More plausible guesses range from Ceva Valroyna to Sally Jack . Whatever her identity, her columns are beloved by certain factions in the city, and she has been suspected on more than one occasion of working for the Neverwinter Resistance.  Nisha Vince  Nisha Vince is an Orc woman who co-owns and runs Bartleby's Tavern (better known as the Stone's Throw to those in the Guild). A skilled fighter, she gave up the adventuring life to marry her wife and run the tavern across the street from the Guild.  Zeb and Rose Waterloo  Zeb and Rose Waterloo are a pair of dapper goblins who live with their giant spiders, Holly and Jolly, in a renovated former mine just outside of Phandalin. Sympathetic to the cause of the Resistance, they have historically helped members of the Resistance with missions involving the town of Phandalin and its resources.  Ted Whipple  Ted Whipple is a retired Human fighter who is the father to Annabelle Whipple . A former Neverwinter City Guard, he was arrested and charged with a crime he did not commit, spending part of her adolescence in the Neverwinter City Prison before being released. Following his release, he relocated to Phandalin, where he worked as an adventurer-for-hire and caravan guard. Despite claiming he is "old and infirm", Ted is notoriously good with a sword and is in excellent physical shape.  Emmet White  Emmet White is a Human man who is the current head of the Neverwinter Gentlefolk Society (better known as the Thieves' Guild).  Invis Winterenvy Jr  Invis Winterenvy Jr was the Elven son of  Invis Winterenvy Sr , brother to Leda Winterenvy and Vanya Winters, and the presumptive heir to the Winterenvy estate. The former head of the Neverwinter Assassins Guild, he was arrested for murder following the discovery of several bodies at his country house. Subsequent investigation followed by a criminal trial found him guilty of 10+ counts of murder, including the murder of Lachlan Kindwinter , and sentenced to death by hanging. Rumor claims that prior to his death, his father, Invis Winterenvy Sr, made a deal with the Lord of Winter to see his son bound to that Court, drawing on (claimed) family ties to see his son spared from death.  Leda Winterenvy Leda Winterenvy is the Elven daughter of Invis Winterenvy Sr and sister to Invis Winterenvy Jr and Vanya Winters. A former student of  Eimar Daj , she is believed to have fled the city following her brother's conviction, opting to attend the University of Suzail to finish her studies.  Vanya Winters  Vanya Winters is the Elven daughter of Invis Winterenvy Sr and sister to Invis Jr and Leda Winterenvy , as well as Ceva Valroyna . Raised primarily by Sana Winterenvy, she was disowned by her father following her marriage and now lives in Luskan with her husband, a cobbler of common origin.  Felix Wyndle  Felix Wyndle is a Human priest of Waukeen and the former head of the Temple of Waukeen in Neverwinter. A close personal friend of Invis Winterenvy , it is believed that he achieved his position by leveraging his political ties and not the favor of the goddess. Following an inability to perform certain magic relevant to his position, as well as being found in a compromising position, he was dismissed from his position with prejudice and cast out from the Temple of Waukeen.  Zemwar  Zemwar (last name unknown) is a falafel vendor. Originally hailing from Amn, their race, age and pronouns are all unknown. What is known is that they are fond of Eimar Daj , who created the tagline for their cart ("Zemwar's Falafel: Quick, Not Awful"), and that their cart is larger on the inside than it is on the outside. They are suspected of being a Djinn or other minor god, though this has never been proven.  The Temple of Tyr The following list consists of people associated with the Temple of Tyr.  Jandar Fairweather  Thelonius Foy Beale Harper  Viola Hyslop    Jandar Fairweather  Jandar Fairweather is a Human Paladin of Tyr and named next spiritual successor to lead the Temple of Tyr. An affable young man who has been involved in multiple Undead bounties, he is friends with Eimar Da j, Big Jim and Ceva . A frequenter of certain unsavory parts of the city, he is somewhat notorious, claiming to Viola Hyslop that his activities outside of the Temple are not frowned upon by Tyr, as prostitution is legal in Neverwinter.  Thelonius Foy  Thelonius Foy is a Human Priest of Tyr. A renowned healer, he has provided healing without asking questions to the members of the Resistance that require it. A close personal friend of Ceva , the two dated briefly before parting mutually as friends. Beale Harper  Beale Harper is a Human Priest of Tyr. A healer with unusual affinity for memory and dream, he has been known to offer Mind Healing services on a sliding fee scale to those of Neverwinter who need it. Eimar Daj has been open about seeing Brother Beale for help in recovering his memories and untangling his thoughts and feelings regarding his time in the House of the Wands in Waterdeep. Brother Beale is one of the two priests who runs the memory shrine at the yearly festival of the dead, held in Neverwinter the first week of November each year, the other being Khallain Daleth .  Viola Hyslop  Viola Hyslop is the current spiritual leader of the Temple of Tyr. A priestess of Tyr, she is a Half-Elf woman who is notorious for being one of the only people in the city to stand up to Invis Winterenvy Sr. and walk away unscathed.  This article is a stub! You can help by expanding it.  Thallan Shara (the Masked One) Thallan Shara (known to the members of the Guild as "the Masked One") is an entity of unknown age and race who was previously trapped in Invis Winterenvy Sr 's Mirror of Life Trapping.  Relatively little is known about Shara prior to their entrapment in the mirror. Rumors and hearsay name them as a priest of Amaunator, one who committed some sin so vile they were not only banished from the Temple they served, but excommunicated and their name made heresy to speak. This has not been verified, but what is known is that they arrived as a nameless wanderer sometime roughly 250 years prior to present day, where they named themself a priest of Waukeen and pretended to serve that Temple faithfully before enacting a plan to destroy the city.  It is unclear what Shara's plan to destroy Neverwinter was. Records of the city prior to the Great Fire have largely been lost, and what remains in the Archives is piecemeal and difficult to put together. What is known is that Shara bore some grudge against Artin Winterenvy , supposedly vowing to destroy the Winterenvy line as well as the city they helped found, before being trapped in the mirror.  Thallan Shara was freed from Artin Winterenvy's Mirror of Life Trapping during a mission to help Andrew Bowditch retrieve said mirror from the Neverwinter Gentlefolk Society, where a would-be member of said society had been trapped. Choosing to break the mirror, members of the Guild saw those trapped within it -- all powerful, dangerous enemies of the Winterenvy family, most of whom had tried to murder various Winterenvy family members over the years, or else tried to lay waste to the city -- freed. Thallan Shara was one of those freed, seen as a person of unknown age/race/gender, wearing a wooden mask that seemed to be a mockery of those worn by the Masked Lords of Waterdeep. They thanked the party for freeing them from their prison before inquiring as to their motives in freeing them. When they discovered that the party was uninterested in helping them destroy the city of Neverwinter, they summoned several fire elementals before teleporting away.  After their release, Undead activity along the Sword Coast began to increase, beginning with the finding of a ritual site outside of Helm's Hold, and culminating in the summoning of a Death Knight in the Far North, one that was destroyed by members of the Bounty Hunter's Guild. While it is unclear what end Shara is working toward, they appear to be partnered with a handful of people, including a priestess of Talona (goddess of plague and disease) to create a plague that will weaken Neverwinter, leaving it defenseless against the destruction they wish to sow.  Members of the Guild have worked to find out who it is that Thallan Shara is, and what it is they desire most, but work to uncover what problem they have with the Winterenvy family or why they wish to see Neverwinter destroyed has been largely fruitless.  The Resistance People (NPCs) associated with the Neverwinter Resistance.  Adamar Adamar is a Human woman in her early 40s who is one of the three historical leaders of the Neverwinter Resistance. While her early origins are largely unknown, as she prefers not to talk about it, she is open about the fact that she hails from the north of Faerun, specifically from the Ten Towns.  Describing herself as "one leg of a three-legged stool", she contrasts herself openly with close friend and fellow Resistance leader Sakai , stating that he handles the "spy shit" while she is the one responsible for "ops and gettin' shit done". Similar to Sakai, she was arrested, tried and executed for treason following a failed coup attempt that saw the Resistance take on the White Council and fail. Her background and abilities are unknown, but she is believed to be a skilled fighter experienced with "sword and board".    This article is a stub! Andrew Bowditch Burke Halpin Henry Lillen Ysabeau   Andrew Bowditch  Andrew Bowditch is a Human man in his mid-20s. The former head of house for House Winterenvy, he was extremely close to Invis Winterenvy Sr. and believed that the two of them had a close and personal friendship. He was dismissed from service by Councilor Winterenvy for unspecified reasons, though Bowditch expressed that he believes this is because the Open Lord of Waterdeep requested that Councilor Winterenvy turn him over to his household as part of the collateral required to consider Invis for an open seat on the Council of Sixteen. Following his dismissal, Andrew Bowditch sought out the Neverwinter Resistance and worked closely with Sakai to hand over what information he knew regarding the members of the Winterenvy household and what Councilor Winterenvy was planning to do following his surprise retirement announcement.  Burke Halpin  Burke Halpin is the owner of the Merciful Maiden Tavern (referred to commonly as the Merciful) and the former head of the Thieves' Guild. Primarily known for being the father figure to Junebug , he dated Ceva briefly and is believed to have been inducted into the Neverwinter Resistance by her. A somewhat unpleasant man who is notoriously difficult to work with, he typically has information on the less savory parts of Neverwinter, keeping close tabs on the goings-on in the Neverwinter Underground and Harbor Quarter.  Henry Lillen  The former would-be leader of the Neverwinter Resistance. A printer's apprentice, Henry Lillen started an underground press that aimed to expose the wrongdoings of the White Council. Caught and imprisoned by associates of Invis Winterenvy Sr, he was tortured for information regarding what had happened to the escaped cleric of Tymora, Sister Greeley. Following his rescue by members of the Bounty Hunter's Guild, Henry Lillen has largely stayed out of the spotlight, choosing to work behind the scenes at the Temple of Tyr, though he has since written articles for the  Neverwinter Voice . He is a close personal friend of Taran Miraleth , though the two have not been seen together in public since his rescue. Resistance members of the current generation are sometimes referred to as "the Friends of Henry Lillen." This is somewhat in genuine recognition of his contribution-- he did help to jumpstart a new generation of active Resistance again after 20 years of dormancy following the failed revolution-- but given his short and rather disastrous tenure as an active member, there's a definite tongue-in-cheek element as well. Ysabeau  Ysabeau (last name unknown) is a Changeling and operator of a spy cell in the Artisan's Guild. They have contributed to several information-gathering missions and are most notorious for having successfully impersonated Harmonium Kindwinter during her bid to hold a coup and overthrow the Council of Neverwinter.  Sakai (Dane the Coffee Merchant) Sakai (Dane the Coffee Merchant) is a Drow man (currently disguised as a High Elf) who hails from Menzoberranzan (the Underdark). While his early life is unknown, it is understood through hints he has given that he was exiled from his homeland at a young age, and has not returned to the Underdark in any capacity since his banishment.  Sakai is a Bard and was originally a member of the Bards Guild before forming the Neverwinter Resistance with Adamar and Bram. Following an unsuccessful attempt to overthrow the White Council, the details of which have yet to be confirmed by those Guild members in the Resistance, he was sentenced to death and subsequently hanged before being decapitated, with body and head buried separately. Resurrected with help from Viola Hyslop , he spent the next sixteen years hiding in the Neverwinter Underground, using what time he had that was not spent plotting and spying on the White Council restoring the burned-out shell of the former Neverwinter Opera House.  Following the resurgence of the resistance movement at the hands of Henry Lillen and Taran Miraleth , Sakai's appearance was changed from that of a badly-scarred Drow man to a High Elf with help from Eimar Daj . His current cover story is that he is a coffee merchant hailing from Amn, selling coffee to the College of Neverwinter after having successfully convinced Elen Blackburn it was in her best interests to purchase beans from him, as well as running a coffee cart in the Open Air market and providing coffee to the Barbarian Horde .  Sakai has significant history with Ceva Valroyna , though it is unclear what this history is. What is known is that the two have recently been romantically linked, though if this is a true relationship or simply another part of his cover story remains to be seen, as he is currently bent on courting her in the "Amnish fashion".
