Dr. Waesfield hails originally from Waterdeep, where he studied as a member of the House of the Wands before leaving to attend the the University of Suzail. His claim to fame, aside from his cart, is providing magical items for members of the Guild in good standing at a [70% discount](https://discord.com/channels/761771453540335656/930341237884583988/1066811457624350860), and in having been part of a feud with [Eimar Daj](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/eimar-valen-daj "Eimar (Valen) Daj") that saw his desk turned permanently into a goat.

</details>##### **Kirvan (Kir) Aramar**

Kirvan (Kir) Aramar is a Half-Elf instructor at the Neverwinter Fighter's College. Friend to Big Jim and Ceva, he was paired with Azoren Embersong during a blind date event, during which they hit it off and began dating. He is a half-elven man native to Neverwinter and comes from a very large family, the subject of which is something of a running joke among the people of the city.

##### **Kit Bonegrip**

Kit Bonegrip is the head of the Mason's Guild and suspected member of the Neverwinter Resistance. An Orc woman, she is renowned for being no-nonsense and a good boss.

##### **Lee and Camilla Hargrove**

Lee and Camilla Hargrove are a Human brother and sister who own a farm outside of Neverwinter. Featured in one of the very first bounties every run, they were troubled by bandits on their farm. Later, Camilla was kidnapped by a tax collector operating out of bounds (but with the blessing of the White Council) before being rescued by the Guild and returned to her brother. The treatment of the Hargroves at the hands of the White Council is cited by some members of the Guild as being the formative event that led to their joining the Neverwinter Resistance.

##### **Lady Jastira Ilizana**

Lady Jastira Ilizana is the mother of Mallon Ilizana. A formidable presence in Neverwinter, she is considered by many to be difficult to get along with, though she is much-beloved by her son.

##### **Wild Huckleberry**

Wild Huckleberry (yes, that *is* his given name) is the head chef of the Book in Hand Tavern, widely considered to be one of the best restaurants in the city. He pays well for foraged goods and is a favorite among druids of the city, some of who claim that his generosity when it comes to paying for mushrooms each fall covers their rent for the year.

##### **Sally Jack (The Spiced Nut Lady)**

Sally Jack is a Human vendor in the Neverwinter Open Air Market. Known more widely as the Spiced Nut Lady, she makes and sells the best spiced nuts in the city for a very reasonable fee. The stories about the Spiced Nut Lady are many; her ire is widely feared out of all proportion with the scope of her empire. She is also a prominent officer of the Merchant's Guild and has a notably luxurious house, implying she either has other investments or spiced nuts are a *shockingly* lucrative trade.

She is perhaps most notorious for having banned [Eimar Daj](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/eimar-valen-daj) from shopping at her cart. The reasons given as to why are varied, but it is known that sharing nuts with Daj is enough to get anyone who dares to do so banned as well. On the other hand, Bounty Hunters can avail themselves of a 25% discount if they promise to eat their nuts in front of Daj.

<details id="bkmrk-potential-spoilers-s"><summary>Potential Spoilers</summary>

Sally Jack is also a notable Resistance leader. She has brought a number of missions to the Bounty Hunter's Guild resistance cell.

Lachlan Kindwinter was the son of [Harmonium Kindwinter](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/other-councilors-past-and-present "Other Councilors (Past and Present)"). A spoiled young Human man, he was notorious for using his mother's position as a member of the White Council to escape from justice, including avoiding being charged with the murder of Stelios Markou, a bartender in the Harbor Quarter that Lachlan is believed to have murdered following a dispute over an unpaid bill. Disappearing shortly after a very public duel with [Invis Winterenvy Jr](#bkmrk-invis-winterenvy-jr%C2%A0), Lachlan's remains were found in the basement of the Winterenvy townhouse in Neverwinter, and he is now believed to have been another one of Winterenvy Jr's victims.

##### **Mouse Spouse Guy**

Mouse Spouse Guy (also known as the Poison Vendor) is a vendor who hawks his wares out of the Merciful Maiden Tavern in the Harbor Quarter. His real name is unknown. Often told to "let it go" by Burke, he is notorious for the patter he engages in each time someone approaches his table:

> Ah, you! Do you have a spouse problem -- I mean, a mouse problem? Mouse, spouse -- who would marry a mouse?"

Mouse Spouse Guy is a holdover from the (now-defunct) Stalker campaign, and was introduced at the behest of players. Poisons can be purchased from him. Prices and inventory vary.

##### **Violette (Columnist)**

Violette is the pseudonym of a columnist who wrote previously for the Neverwinter Chronicle and now writes for the Neverwinter Voice. Her columns are full of blind items regarding certain (in)famous people about the city. While her identity is unknown, most people in Neverwinter have a guess as to who she is. More plausible guesses range from [Ceva Valroyna](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/ceva-valroyna) to [Sally Jack](#bkmrk-sally-jack%C2%A0-1). Whatever her identity, her columns are beloved by certain factions in the city, and she has been suspected on more than one occasion of working for the Neverwinter Resistance.

##### **Nisha Vince**

Nisha Vince is an Orc woman who co-owns and runs Bartleby's Tavern (better known as the Stone's Throw to those in the Guild). A skilled fighter, she gave up the adventuring life to marry her wife and run the tavern across the street from the Guild.

Despite claiming he is "old and infirm", Ted is notoriously good with a sword and is in excellent physical shape.

##### **Invis Winterenvy Jr**

Invis Winterenvy Jr was the Elven son of [Invis Winterenvy Sr](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/invis-winterenvy-sr "Invis Winterenvy, Sr."), brother to [Leda Winterenvy](#bkmrk-leda-winterenvy-1) and Vanya Winters, and the presumptive heir to the Winterenvy estate. The former head of the Neverwinter Assassins Guild, he was arrested for murder following the discovery of several bodies at his country house. Subsequent investigation followed by a criminal trial found him guilty of 10+ counts of murder, including the murder of [Lachlan Kindwinter](#bkmrk-lachlan-kindwinter%C2%A0), and sentenced to death by hanging. Rumor claims that prior to his death, his father, Invis Winterenvy Sr, made a deal with the Lord of Winter to see his son bound to that Court, drawing on (claimed) family ties to see his son spared from death.

Raised primarily by Sana Winterenvy, she was disowned by her father following her marriage and now lives in Luskan with her husband, a cobbler of common origin.

##### **Felix Wyndle**

Felix Wyndle is a Human priest of Waukeen and the former head of the Temple of Waukeen in Neverwinter. A close personal friend of [Invis Winterenvy](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/invis-winterenvy-sr "Invis Winterenvy, Sr."), it is believed that he achieved his position by leveraging his political ties and not the favor of the goddess. Brother Beale is one of the two priests who runs the memory shrine at the yearly festival of the dead, held in Neverwinter the first week of November each year, the other being [Khallain Daleth](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/college-of-neverwinter-faculty-and-staff "College of Neverwinter (Faculty and Staff)").

##### **Viola Hyslop**

# Thallan Shara (the Masked One)

Thallan Shara (known to the members of the Guild as "the Masked One") is an entity of unknown age and race who was previously trapped in [Invis Winterenvy Sr](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/invis-winterenvy-sr "Invis Winterenvy, Sr.")'s Mirror of Life Trapping.

Relatively little is known about Shara prior to their entrapment in the mirror. Rumors and hearsay name them as a priest of Amaunator, one who committed some sin so vile they were not only banished from the Temple they served, but excommunicated and their name made heresy to speak. This has not been verified, but what is known is that they arrived as a nameless wanderer sometime roughly 250 years prior to present day, where they named themself a priest of Waukeen and pretended to serve that Temple faithfully before enacting a plan to destroy the city.

It is unclear what Shara's plan to destroy Neverwinter was. Records of the city prior to the Great Fire have largely been lost, and what remains in the Archives is piecemeal and difficult to put together. What is known is that Shara bore some grudge against [Artin Winterenvy](https://bookshop.nentuaby.space/books/people/page/other-councilors-past-and-present "Other Councilors (Past and Present)"), supposedly vowing to destroy the Winterenvy line as well as the city they helped found, before being trapped in the mirror.

Thallan Shara was freed from Artin Winterenvy's Mirror of Life Trapping during a mission to help Andrew Bowditch retrieve said mirror from the Neverwinter Gentlefolk Society, where a would-be member of said society had been trapped. Choosing to break the mirror, members of the Guild saw those trapped within it -- all powerful, dangerous enemies of the Winterenvy family, most of whom had tried to murder various Winterenvy family members over the years, or else tried to lay waste to the city -- freed. Thallan Shara was one of those freed, seen as a person of unknown age/race/gender, wearing a wooden mask that seemed to be a mockery of those worn by the Masked Lords of Waterdeep. They thanked the party for freeing them from their prison before inquiring as to their motives in freeing them. When they discovered that the party was uninterested in helping them destroy the city of Neverwinter, they summoned several fire elementals before teleporting away.

After their release, Undead activity along the Sword Coast began to increase, beginning with the finding of a ritual site outside of Helm's Hold, and culminating in the summoning of a Death Knight in the Far North, one that was destroyed by members of the Bounty Hunter's Guild. While it is unclear what end Shara is working toward, they appear to be partnered with a handful of people, including a priestess of Talona (goddess of plague and disease) to create a plague that will weaken Neverwinter, leaving it defenseless against the destruction they wish to sow.

Members of the Guild have worked to find out who it is that Thallan Shara is, and what it is they desire most, but work to uncover what problem they have with the Winterenvy family or why they wish to see Neverwinter destroyed has been largely fruitless.
